Sonia Espelta graduated in chemistry at the University of Barcelona and then decided to take a job as perfumer. She has worked for Carbonnel for eight years. She loves and collects old perfumes from the time of her grandmother and mother. She rarely wears perfumes in her spare time, even though she thinks about them constantly. She is inspired by even the smallest details from the street where she lives, breezes that bring scents of flowers and herbs or scents of people passing by. Besides this job, Sonia examines the quality of the ingredients in the company.

One of the latest project for Carbonnel perfumers Sonia Espelta and Laura Santander is the superb Oud Stars collection made in collaboration with Sergio Momo (Xerjoff), which is based on and dedicated to Oud (Agarwood) of the finest quality.
